Barbara Arthur's Christian Testimony

Barbara Arthur Christian Testimony Ms. Barbara Arthur
U.S. House of Representatives
South Carolina District 7

1.  When and how did you become a Christian?

Barbara Arthur: "I was born in Communist Cuba to a family of generational mediums. While I was still in my mother’s womb, I was dedicated to follow in the same religious practice. In 1969, my father, two of my siblings and I fled to America on Lyndon Johnson’s Freedom Flights. However, Castro’s regime withheld my mother’s US visa, and three other siblings, for 23 years. My family was split in half for 23 years. Although my mother was not living with us physically, the spiritual implication of the occult affected my life profoundly. In 1993, while going through a very difficult divorce, I sat alone on the last pew of a church and I cried out to God for help. He heard my prayer. Immediately, God the Father transferred me from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His Son, Jesus Christ where I stand rooted and grounded today. Within a short period of time, I set up a throne in my heart and I asked the King of Kings to take His rightful place in my life. Jesus Christ did not just become my Savior; He also became my Lord, which means master."

2.  How did becoming a Christian change you?

Barbara Arthur: "Everything in my life changed. The Holy Spirit convicted me of how I dressed, so I took most of my clothing to the consignment shop. I was in the modeling industry and the Lord called me out because He wants me to live a life that is set apart, holy. Before giving my life to the Lord, I loved rock and roll music. But on February 15, 1993, the Lord spoke to my heart clearly that I was never to listen to secular music again. By His grace, I have not tuned the radio dial to a non-Christian music station since then. I felt the call to ministry and the Lord has opened many doors for me to teach the Bible and to speak in many Christian women’s events from Billings, Montana to Miami, Florida. I homeschooled for 15 years."

3.  How would you describe your relationship with Jesus today?

Barbara Arthur: "I love the Lord. I seek solely to obey Him because He says we only love Him as much as we obey Him. I seek to honor Him in all I do. I spend time in His Word and in prayer daily. He is my lifeline. Before I go out to campaign, I ask the Lord to guide me where He wants me to go. He never fails."

4.  Which church in which city do you attend most often?

Barbara Arthur: "My husband and I are members of New Providence Baptist Church in Hartsville, SC."

5.  In the past 12 months, how many church services have you attended?

Barbara Arthur: "All of them, with the exception of one or two when I got COVID."

6.  In the past 12 months, how much time have you spent in prayer to God daily?

Barbara Arthur: "I pray every day without ceasing. In the mornings, I spend time in worship and in prayer because that’s when I get my direction for the day. I love my time with the Lord. At times I have felt I spend too much time at home in prayer. I need to get out and campaign. My answer to the question is that in the mornings, I will spend an average of one to one and a half hours in prayer and worship, and then throughout the day."

7.  In the past 12 months, how much Bible reading have you averaged daily?

Barbara Arthur: "I read the Bible in the mornings and in the evenings. Because of campaigning, I average about 30 minutes a day in reading. Before I felt led to run for Congress, I would spend 2 to 3 hours in Bible study, daily."

8.  Do you believe Jesus always has been both God and the Son of God?

Barbara Arthur: "Absolutely! God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are three in One."

9.  Why did Jesus die on the cross?

Barbara Arthur: "To reconcile us to the Father. Jesus died on the cross that I may have an intimate relationship with His Father, my Father."

10.  Do you believe Jesus rose from the dead?

Barbara Arthur: "Absolutely. I believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day, according to the Scriptures. I believe He walked the earth and then ascended to heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father."

11.  Do you believe Jesus ascended to heaven and will return someday?

Barbara Arthur: "Yes, I believe Jesus will return. I am persuaded by the Scriptures. I also believe the trumpet will sound and we who are in Christ will be caught up with Him in the air."

12.  By what criterion do you believe people go to heaven?

Barbara Arthur: "There is only one way to heaven, through faith in Jesus Christ alone."

13.  In the past year, how many non-Christians have you told why Jesus died?

Barbara Arthur: "In the past year, while campaigning for Congress, I have not witnessed to non-believers. However, I tell just about everyone I come into contact with, “Communism is here (in America) and God is our only hope."

14.  Which gift(s) has the Holy Spirit given you, and what fruit(s) has it borne?

Barbara Arthur: "I am a teacher. The fruit it has borne: I love to study the Word. I have written out the whole New Testament and a large portion of the Old Testament. I submitted to fulltime women’s ministry as a Bible teacher and conference speaker."

15.  What do you pray to God for/about our nation?

Barbara Arthur: "Because I was born in Cuba and my family and I were greatly affected by it, I pray for His mercy. The socialism highway these godless politicians have us on will lead to a totalitarian Communist form of government. I know my Father’s voice. My job right now is to tell everyone I come into contact with, “Communism is here (in America) and God is our only hope."

16.  How do you define "marriage"?

Barbara Arthur: "Marriage is a holy union between a man and a woman."

17.  Under what circumstances do you believe abortion should be allowed?

Barbara Arthur: "That is a tough question. If I say only when the mother’s life is in danger, then we’re killing the child. I do not know."

18.  What remedies do you advocate against illegal immigration?

Barbara Arthur: "Military force against the Mexican cartels, build the wall, and deportation at the border."

19.  Where can the rest of your policy positions be read?

Barbara Arthur: "BarbaraArthurForCongress.com."

20.  What would you like to say to the Christian voters in South Carolina's 7th Congressional District?

Barbara Arthur: "Our country is at war from within. Biden and his socialist administration seek to lead us to a totalitarian form of government. If you call yourself a Christian, then get in the fight. Do what you can to help our country from this administration’s socialist agenda, run for office, work the polls, or get involved in a campaign to save our country and freedom.

"Before God, I affirm my answers above to be entirely true and without exaggeration."
